Zennie : Earl of Essence To Look, To Hear, And To Feel A Woman

To Look, To Hear, And To Feel A Woman

Posted on May 29th, 2006 by Zennie : Earl of Essence Zennie
I interupt this vacation to write a poem about some important learnings. To be clear, I wrote this poem to myself, for myself, and my love so I could remember what is important between us. This is my advice to me based on what I learn these days. I am the you I write to in this poem. This is a new view just for me I am sharing with you.

And then, I remembered. I didn't write this poem at all.

To look at a woman
if you would know her,
you must look at her long.
With more than the eyes.

This is not a looking
to know with the mind.
It is receptivity
a response
to her vibration
her energy
her essence
her soul.

To hear a woman,
You must listen to the
emotion below the words,
past the concepts
deeper than any situation
she describes.

The potential
the dream
the yearning
is almost always bigger
and more lovely
if you feel
where she reaches.

The mind can know what she does.
It can understand her thoughts
but you must open your heart
and feel her
synchronize with her kiss
and her touch to really know her.

This is the blessed opportunity
to throw away
the false beliefs of the head
and be who we really are
before we became the things we aren't.

That's the kind of love I want.
That's the kind of love that transcends
the day to day.
That's the kind of love we were meant to discover
when two become one.

Yes, just like the Brian Adams song-to really love a woman you must know her deep inside. ..

Vibration of her essence-that's a truth Ben… an utter truth…

Ben,   This is a lovely poem you have written.  You write good poems, please consider writing more.  The way you have expressed your feeling is great and wonderful. Keep it up.  My friend Maria is the one who told me to read it and it has made my day.

Thank You Ben

Thank you all so much for taking the time to read and respond to this poem. It means so much to me as I have no way of knowing if anything I write connects with anyone else or not.

This poem is a step out for me. Typically, I write about God in the sensual and spiritually romantic way. In this case, I clearly stepped over the line into romance with a woman as that is where I am at these days.

As my loving presence stabilizes, I hope it more poems will come forth. I am beginning to have the inspirational feelings. Now, I just need to remember to sit down and put a pen in my hand. lol!!

Thank you so much!

I felt this poem as a really beautiful one. As Katrina has pointed out it reminds me of “Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman?” Yet this is different in that It touches the spiritual as well as the intellectual aspects of a woman too not just her physical aspect. Thats why I asked Yash to read it. Expecting more poetry from You…:)

Ben - - that is beautiful - - I am going to print that out and place it near my writing table.  Before I call my wife each evening (we are separated while I begin our move to Seattle) I will read it THEN call.  Thank you for this deep piece on spiritual love for a woman / for women.
